One-year-old Jimena just received a gift that lasts a lifetime

Jimena Nicole Xoj Caal is too young to know it, but her mother, María Cecelia Caal, has just given her a gift more precious than toys, books or clothes – it is the gift of vaccination. Jimena, an indigenous Mayan child, received her vaccination for measles at a UNICEF-supported health centre in Guatemala.

Did you know?

  • UNICEF is world's largest provider of vaccines for developing countries
  • Every year, immunisation saves approximately 2-3 million lives around the world

But still, an estimated 1.5 million children die every year because they were not vaccinated.

This Mother’s Day, help mothers protect their children from dangerous – but preventable – diseases. Please donate now.
